This one is a little nerdy.  Sorry.

Bright Water is rigged very simply.  There is no mainsheet traveller, no vang, no kicker, and the main has no roach even though it has full battens.  Weird, but fine.  Simple is good.  But on a broad reach the boom lifts and the main twists like crazy, spilling wind out the top and even making the jib a little less stable, I think.

But there was this weird dinghy tackle attached to a huge bungy in the lazarette.  Maybe….

I rigged it as a preventer/boom-puller-downer.  Simple to attach, and…

Boom! The twist is gone.  Cool.  Also, the main sheet is less likely to pop my head off as the boom sweeps back and forth through the cockpit.  More better.
